Exercises for a Six Pack?

I’m dying for a lean six-pack. What are some good exercises I can do do acheive this?

Everyone tells me sit-ups, but normal sit-ups are so uneffective its ridiculous. Is there any way I can angle my sit-ups? Maybe do something like hold up my legs?

And there’s got to be something else outside of sit-ups that can help me train my abdominals.

To those people that have a six-pack, what did you do?

I’m eatin right, so I got a two-pack already without any abdominal exercises. Please don’t tell me a diet plan is important, I know this already.

I’ve went to different sites but all they have are complicated time plans and diets.

***All I need is strict and simple exercises. No diet or time plans.***

Umm… If it helps, I’m a 16 year old guy.

Tiff – it sounds like you are doing a lot of work and I’m sure the 6-pack is there. The problem is that women naturally carry a little more fat on their bodies than men.

The trick to getting the 6-pack to show is to get lean enough for it to be seen. But, getting that lean may be physically unhealthy depending on your body type. Don’t obsess over the 6-pack to the point that you hurt your health. Too lean is unhealthy.

Also, you are still very young. Your body will continue to re-shape over the next couple of years and you might just see those great abs magically appear without even trying too much. Keep exercising and be patient.

admin answers:

You could have a nice 6pack under there and no one would ever see it because of the belly fat. You should do some cardio and light arobics to get rid of the layer of fat, once that is taken care of you can work on the muscle.

300 crunches, how often? More then 100 a day is over training and not good for you. Like with most things there are limits

to little —–almost —– right ammount —– too much —– over kill

Everyone has abs. Most people just have a layer of fat covering them. If you exercise at least 60 minutes a day, you’re probably burning the calories from the unhealthy stuff you eat. If you do crunches or other ab exercises, you’ll see improvement.

Going From Six-Pack To Washboard Abs?

Hello-
I’ve recently progressed from being 15 lbs overweight to finally seeing my sixpack. I’m 5’11 and 155lbs with 7.6% bf and would love to take that last step to having my abdominals nice and chiseled. I may have hit a plateau wall, but don’t want to do anything drastic to break through. No crazy drugs/supplements. Any ideas would be helpful, more cardio, more weighted ab training, better dieting (maybe I’m not doing enough or giving myself enough time to see results) Most of the weight lose happened last last year however I only really gave myself the washboard abs goal since new years. Anyway, please let me know what the ideal washboard ab % should be. 6%???? Or if another 5lbs drop is required. THANKS.

admin answers:

That would require you to have a pretty low body fat percentage…but with 7.6 you should be okay.

A reason why you don’t have the abs you want is because of your diet. Maybe you’re taking in too much sodium, which retains water, resulting in a soft look. You should also try some carb cycling.

Yes – aboslutely and it doesnt take that much effort. I have managed it on a normaly low-fat, high protein diet and do my ab exercises every day…..and I’m 52!
Six-pack Abs diet, what do I eat?

It’s kinda in between. I’m trying to work on a diet for six-pack abs and I know the first thing to getting abs, is losing the fat covering them up. One of my friends told me to go on a 5-6 meal a day diet that helped him. I am going to do it, but, I don’t know what all should be included in the diet. I am looking for a complete meal for each of the meals. Like the foods I should be eating for each meal. So if someone can actually go into a detailed list of what I should eat in those meals while making it diverse to where I can change it up every two to three days and start over after the third day, I would greatly appreciate it.

Six pack abs diet, nutrition, and exercise for high school student.?

Hi, during the summer, I was able to lose 60lbs off my body because I was pretty fat before. My question is how do I further lower my body fat percentage? What diet plan should I be taking or doing? Any specific nutrition I must take? What exercises are best? I’m in high school, no car, and no gym membership. I have a few dumbbells so that’s all I can really work with. Just 2 weeks ago, I’ve been trying a high protein diet by eating just lean meat, fish, and chicken. No fried stuff, no junk really, drank only water and skim milk, and tried to eat around every 3 hours or so with small meals while jump roping. By the end of the 2 week, I somehow gained 1 in around my waist and 7 lbs. If you may, please help me tweak my diet and construct a schedule for me to help me achieve a six pack. I worked really hard and really want to continue to get it but stay on the right track as well. I get massive junk food cravings because of my lifestyle back then but because my goals were bigger, I resisted all temptations. If it helps, class for me starts at 8:35am and school ends at 3:35pm. I have an hour lunch from 12:00pm-1:05pm. If anybody has an idea on what I should eat, do tell. Forgot to mention that I also play tennis. Thanks to all in advance.

First, calculate your maintenance amount of calories and eat 500 less than that (see http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm).

Next, split those calories among at least 5 small meals. These meals should have plenty of protein but no sugar. Staying away from processed foods will help. It should look something like this:

breakfast- oatmeal and egg whites
lunch 1- chicken breast on whole wheat bread with veggies
lunch 2- tuna, brown rice
dinner 1- lean beef, green vegetable
dinner 2- chicken breast on salad with olive oil

It appears as if you have the right idea, just count the calories and eat only 500 under maintenance.
