Leg lifts can be done laying on your back, feet flat on the floor and knees bent. You can then just raise your bent knees up towards your chest. I have read that straight leg raises could hurt your lower back.

Also a combination of leg lifts with stomach crunches. Not only are these exercises good for the stomach, but also the lower back which is important.

I am starting to go to my own gym every day and I do push ups (15), bridges, 6kg dumbells, and a machine that helps my arm muscles but I am wondering how I can acheive and good sixpack in not too much time. Well two things you’ll need to add, about 15 minutes on a bike/treadmill/elliptical, make it really intense and fast so you burn the most fat, and as many crunches as you can do then when you can’t keep going switch to sit-ups. You need the cardio so you can get your body fat % very, very low, so your muscles will show through.
Also if you don’t mind adding in the extra time if your gym has a oblique twist machine, and for these just do about 2 sets for each side of about 10-15 reps.

Gee, there are some weird answers posted here for this one. Lol
To work your abdominals, you need to do crunches, and variations of it. Start with 3 sets of as many crunches as you can do, which should be between 10-30, I’m guessing. Do this for the first week, then build up to adding extra exercises such as knee tucks off the end of a bench (http://www.netfit.co.uk/assets/004s.jpg), and even adding weight to your crunches, by holding a heavy book, or a small weight disc (up to 5kgs). This will allow you to build you abs to a degree that you can see the addominal muscles under your skin, hence, a ’6 pack’.
Make sure you are not eating much sugary and fatty foods, as this will just add body fat, which is the covering over your abs. Minimal bodyfat means a defined stomach.
Do some cardio work, too, to help you tone up a little more. Anything like running for 2-30 mins, 2-3 times a week, will help a lot to achieving a 6-pack even faster.
It wont take long, within a few weeks, you should start to notice some results :)

Six packs are really hard to maintain and takes alot of will power. Here is the deal when you eat it will probably show on your stomach so what you need to do avoid to much fatty foods. Six packs are maintained by but not limited to sit ups and crunches(do as much as you could every morning BEFORE you eat). And before you take a bath in the evening or night. You packs such be in tip top shape in about a month. Could really be less if you do dem more longer and more frequently.For me i don’t have Bowflex so i hang upside down from a pole in room and do them there. You do your own thing dude!

Best exercises for a Six Pack?

Im 15 years old am pretty thin. I want to have a six pack by summer but I don’t know what exercises will give me the best results. Ive been playing soccer for a while so my abs are strong, but you cant see the individual packs, even when im flexing. Im not asking for amazing six pack abs. I just want to know which exercises I should do so that after a few weeks you can start to see a result of individual packs and eventually a very good set of abs. How many should I do each day, what kind, how many sets? etc.

Im pretty much the same size as this women but with no abs. : (
I don’t eat healthy at all, I usually don’t eat but once a day but I eat a bunch. Im really thin but have fat from my unhealthy diet. If I tighten my stomach I can see definition where my abs are but its not like that unless I try. I have the jelly rolls when I sit just like we all get but I want a tight tummy with abs like the model in the picture. If A statistic in my Doctors surgery really is true, and believing me many hostile women hate men nowadays?

Do one in three women get violated, because I as a man had a violent father and vowed to focus on why his character was violent and vowed whatever caused it in him would never happen in my or my off spring?

There is nothing funny about having a hammer thrust into your head as a bloke, but dating just two violated women one as a relationship actually harms the intimacy, do women ever recover, and if not what can be done by men to prevent men not respecting women and why is this not a major political issue serious effecting politics is it also an immigration or xenaphobic or genderbias or sexual preference bias question?

From the two women who were violently violated I treated with respect whom other men has committed violence to, I focussed on empowerment and kindness and gratitude, but it seemed in one case the woman could no longer have kids and went nuts and I had the worst sex of my entire life, and in the other, desensitised as if there was no soul as a lust to just stinging men? Weird! Is this the terror talked about when those who care for us are attacked.

What can be done by men, to make women safer and the issues of relationships better too for women who are violated men just dont seem to understand. My specialist doctor said when violation was inevitable enjoy it and it really angered my mom who has led a privelleged life, can some women understand that blokes seeing a woman taken away for a self pitying exercise of focussing hatred and issues other than we male people can not understand is unhelpful if we call it wallowing in self pity apparently it said in the doctors surgery too one in six men get violated too, is this by women? Do they seek revenge by scaring men into the act of excitability as a group pack rape of six women on one man, and do men get taken seriously if they report it?

In days gone bye my folks used to focus on morality, respect decency dignity but dad would manipulate himself by anger to do work, although he was never violently sexual to my knowledge as a loving man, he had a brain infection of white blood cells excessive from motor accident aged 18 caused it and mellowed with age.
Two separate issues, Focussing on gentleness kindness and desiring work as a love of what you do as with people to is a higher motivation than anger to force. So why do folks hot spot take pride in being mean spirited nasty and horrid is this causing it cyclically distructively?
And if you really wanted to manage anger why talk about it surely aborb attention onto responsibly dealing with gentleness not as a denial for the opposite we know already exists but why encourage it if the priorty to focus is quality values of another type, surely we are creating the frustration by denial anger and manipulation rather than kind gentle motivation of desires?

I find it bazaar why dominance is an issue at all or why controlling others as a power trip should be a focus instead, strict adherence to not loose resolve in being kindly gentle will always be more influential even if you have to go your own way about getting it, I just dont see hostile agression as an answer to confronting or combatting inappropriate behaviour especially if healthy behaviour is alleged to be the focus? Relevance, how to return to normality and what is normality in a modern world?

The prevalence of sexual assault, reported an unreported, is of great social concern. When women are afraid to walk alone at night for fear of assault, we must accept that society has not done it’s job of providing for the common welfare. What action can be taken to remedy this?

Perhaps a return to these values would help reduce the incidence of sexual assault.
Also, a consumer-driven shift in the entertainment industry would help. If people spent less time and money on movies, magazines and music that glamorize sexual violence, the industry would in turn create a more palatable product for consumers to buy. If you believe that “life imitates art” then you would support my suggestion.

I’m not calling for censorship, just a shift in the volume of material that contains explicit sexual violence and a request for more entertainment that does not include violence in order to entertain.

alright, i have been doing allot of research on a program called the truth about six pack abs program and i was just wondering if you have tried it and if it has worked for you?if you have any answers or you have used it please share your experience .also a big question of mine is can you do the program to lose weight without gaining all that bulky muscle?i really only want a flat stomach not a six pack.

Truth About Abs is basically a book that gives you informaiton about the best ways to reduce stomach fat and get more toned & defined abs. Most people just do situps or crunches to try and get 6 pack abs, but the reality is that you need to do some more clever things like boost your metabolism and make your weights routines more targeted.

The TAA program is O.K but it’s really just a guide. Its real benefit is to brush aside all the bogus information out on the Internet and give you the truth about getting abs– and how to “shortcut” to get them easily.

This is one of the main products being sold by an “affiliate marketing” network. THousands of people on the internet are all trying to make money selling this “program”. It is a complete waste of time.

Once people join the network, the only way they can recoup their fee is to sell this program. So they push it everywhere.

Jogging is an excellent exercise because it let you lose weight
evenly throughout your whole body. If you want to lose weight in
specific areas, you should target them with exercises. If they are
your problem areas, they will be very difficult to tone. You will have
to work double on them. The best approach is this:
1. Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normal
weight, lower for overweight).
2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.
3. Target your problem areas with exercises.
An excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,
for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure
that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you
will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your
body back, until it’s parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and
move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add
to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week,
guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat – if you have any – six
pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these
crunches – I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT
ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

6 weeks today is my holiday and i allready have a very flat stomach with no fat on it realy,so i have been doing exersize vids on youtube eveyday for getting a 6 pack i have been doing this for 4 days,everynight for around 5/10 mins (i know its not alot) so how much do i need to be doing to get a 6 pack in time for my holiday ? thanks.(i can allready see an emprovment in 3 days,only a little though).

“Fast” and “flat” are relative. How “fast” you get a flat stomach will depend on a lot of things such as:

1. How much you exercise

2. What exercises you do

3. How old you are

4. What you eat

5. How much rest you get

6. The shape you are in when you start

7. The genes you inherited from you mom and dad

You get my point. Two people can start today to work on getting that flat stomach and one could be there in six weeks, and the other could take six months…or more.

“Flat” is going to vary a little from person to person…not only in what they CAN achieve with the right exercises and so on, but in terms of what they WANT to achieve. Some people want the six-pack abs ripped and shredded to the max, while some just want to stop drooping over the waistband of their bathing suit.

Tip 1: Stay hydrated. First of all, what you perceive as hunger is often actually thirst. Some people snack a lot because their bodies are crying out for water. Also, not drinking enough water can slow your basic metabolic rate, and that means that it is harder to burn the fat on your stomach. We’ll talk more about that later.

Tip 2: Get your rest. By this, I mean SLEEP!! Your body will respond best to ANY sort of exercise program from weightlifting to yoga if it gets the rest it needs. Not only will you be able to perform better after a good night’s rest, but it will help your body get on with the business of resculpting your muscles, wherever they may be.

Tip 3: Get the proper nutrition. This means not only the right foods, but in the right quantities at the right times. A tip inside this tip is to try to eat several small meals a day rather than two or three big ones. Foods should be high in protein, but don’t neglect the carbs. You need those for energy. Shoot for complex carbs. The rule of thumb is that the closer it is to natural, i.e. Apple vs. Apple pie, the more complex the carbs. Ice cream is NOT complex.

Tip 4: Exercise your stomach muscles. Your “stomach muscles” are actually made up mainly of three sets of muscles. Each one is in a different position, and has a different job to do. By the same token, developing each set of muscles will require you to do specific exercises for that set of muscles.

The three sets of muscles are the rectus abdominis (the six pack down the middle of your body from ribcage to groin), the transversus abdominus (TVA) which runs from back to front and holds everything in place, and the obliques (internal and external) which lie on the side.

Exercises for the rectus abdominis:

1. The crunch: You know this one, right? On your back, knees bent, feet flat on the floor close to your buttocks. Put your hands beside your head or across your chest and curl your head and shoulders up toward your knees. You can increase the difficulty by holding a weight behind your head, putting your feet up on something, or by holding your feet in the air as you crunch. I recommend hands “beside” the head rather than “behind” as this may help prevent injury from pulling on the head and shoulders as you try to knock out a few more. Before you begin each crunch, try to flatten your lower back to the floor. When you have curled up to the maximum position, hold that position for a second and then try to curl just a little more. You might be surprised to find that you may be able to go just a little farther.

2. The reverse crunch: In basic crunches, you keep your feet and legs still while curling your head and shoulders up. In reverse crunches, you begin on your back with your hands at your sides on the floor with your knees elevated towards your chest. The movement is merely pulling (crunching) the knees towards your head while keeping head and shoulders in place.

Exercise the transversus abdominus:

The vacuum: Practitioners of yoga will recognize part of Cat Pose (Bidalasana) in the vacuum exercise. In fact, the movement can be done standing, hanging (by your hands of course), or on hands and knees as in the cat pose. It is pretty simple. You just slowly exhale, using your abdominal muscles to draw your navel in as far towards your spine as possible and hold for a few seconds and then let it go. Slowly build your way up to a couple of sets of twenty holds.

Exercise the obliques:

More good news! You really don’t want to work these incredibly hard unless you want a WIDE waist! While strong, healthy obliques are good to have, power lifters and people like that are the ones who will really WANT to develop their obliques to the max.

Side bends with dumbbells are probably the most common form of exercise for these muscles.

Exercise the entire core:

Again, a yoga pose, slightly modified, will help tighten and tone the entire core. Known in yoga as Plank pose and also called Abdominal Bracing, this is an easy to perform yet highly effective exercise when done over time.
