In the UK driving test, does an emergency stop have to be made without ABS?

Ie. If ABS is fitted in the car, does it have to be disabled in order to prove that the driver can perform an emergency stop without skidding?

No, it does NOT have to be disabled. BUT, you WILL fail if it engages…and stays engaged as it shows a lack of braking control / skill.

The ‘emergency stop’ in a UK driving test REQUIRES you to come to a full stop WITHOUT locking the wheels (a VERY small lock-up or ABS flutter is OK, so long as it is instantly corrected)

And it’s REALLY rare to do one in the actual test…and most instructors will only ‘practice’ this once with you…tyres are expensive!!

If your stomach is pretty flat already then the best way to tone muscles is to do abdominal crunches and sit ups…
However that’ll make no difference if there’s fat you need to lose first.
To lose fat, the best way is to do aerobic exercises, such as jogging, skipping etc. This will lose the fat, and then do the sit ups/crunches to tone :)
Also, a healthy diet is a bonus (: and will also help to keep the fat off

It is definitely in or next to the engine bay fusebox – the ABS relays are green & red.

Around 10% and under. You can buy electric scales that can test your bf%. There are some ways of doing it with a tape measure http://www.linear-software.com/online.html use the one on the far right, don’t think its that accurate though but it will give you a good idea. Just keep at it.

is stretching good or bad for your abs if your working on a six pack?

my friend who works out a lot told me that if your trying to get six pack abs, you shouldn’t stretch your abs after working out and you shouldn’t work on your core muscles only the exterior ones. This didn’t really sound correct to me do you guys know?

Stretching is only bad in one scenario. Static stretching (ie: stretching a muscle and holding it there for 20secs+) can make you up to 15% weaker, which is a big deal if you are say bench pressing. All you need to do before you work your abs is warm up. Stretching AFTER you workout is vital.

Stretching after working out your abs has the same effect as any other muscle. It clears away the lactic acid so you feel less sore the next day and therefore you can work out harder, more often.

And you need to work out ALL your core muscles to keep them balanced. Abs, Hip Flexors, Obliques and Lower Back** muscles all need to be worked to keep your posture in check and avoid injury.

And remember a 6-pack is 80% diet 20% exercise

The only way to lose that fat is by reducing your overall body fat. The most effective way would be starting a high intensity cardio workout. However, this may be counter productive if you also wish to gain weight. Your best bet is to go on a clean bulk until you reach your desired weight, and then start cutting until you get to the body fat percentage that you’re satisfied with.

I’m 16 in like two weeks and i would love a six pack, i got a workout plan sorted but in the past i would get bored. Any ideas on how to stick to it? I just think that with problems in my life that focusing on a six pack is just tedious and pointless but i know i would look hot with it.

Personally, i dont have nor have never strived for a six pack…i much rather have a back like a barn door, shoulders like anvils, legs like tree trucks and arms like…well, you get the idea.

I dont ever train my abs in isolation but i have a half decent six pack…just make sure you are heavy squatting, deadlifting and doing pullups with a light weight inbetween your knees to keep your body stiff and you will see definition.

How do i get a six pack?

Im 16, weigh around 140, and Im 5’7 or 5’8. I have the entire summer to work on this and I know it wont be easy. Do i have to diet? I lift a few times a week but hardly ever work on the core. I also need detailed instructions because Im not familiar with core workouts. Thank you for your time

Eat proper and instead of doing a certain number of sit ups like most people, you should do it for an amount of time like for example.

Wide arm sit ups= basically keep your legs bent and put your arms on your chest and as you sit up open up your arms wide.

Diving sit-ups= Put your hands forward like your going to dive in to a swimming pool and keep them out don’t bring them back in at all during the sit-ups and just sit up that way you are using your abs not your arms to help sit you up.

Bench press sit ups= place your arms as if you are about to bench press and sit up moving your arms in a bench press motion at the same time.

Below the kneecap sit-ups= keep your legs bent and put your arms out in front of you and sit up so your hands touch just below your knee caps.

Full sit-ups= keep your legs bent and put the tips of your fingers on the floor and sit up and touch your ankles trying not to use your legs to help sit you up.

The plank= this hurts you need to put your fists together so they are touching and point your elbows outwards a bit to make a triangle shape and then stretch out making sure only your forearms, fists, and tip of your toes are touching the floor and hold for 1 minute keeping your body as level and as straight as you can.

Do each of the sit-up excersises for at least a minute each then gradually add time as you get used to doing them..
