I already eat fairly well and very healthy. I work out 2-3 times a week and very muscular also. But I’m trying to really get a good six-pack. From people who already have a ripped six-pack: How much crunches or situps do I have to do each day? What type of crunches? What type of work out routine?

Loosing unwanted weight is always very difficult. When we eat we fill our cells. If we are taking in more than we are burning off the cells will multiply. The fat cells will never go away. They will shrink when we lose weight but if the bad eating habits return the fat cells will expand quickly. This is why people gain weight back so quickly after a crash diet. There’s not secrete to losing weight. Always boils down to two things. 1.) Proper diet. Including portion amount, time of intake, what foods you’re eating. I have read every diet book and tried most of them twice. I’m not over weight, but like to have a tight 6 pack. I have also been to a nutritionist only to better what I’m eating. What I’ve found over the years is that you need to balance your meals and eat several meals. Eating once or twice a day sends your body into a mode where it thinks you are going to starve and it will store everything instead of burning calories your forcing it to keep them in storage. Eating several small times a day increases the metabolism. It forces your body and digestive system to go to work. Avoid sugars and excess carbohydrates. I have had the best results this year when I started eating things based on the glycemic index. Which will help control insulin and glucose. Insulin also makes the body store food. Snack on mixed nuts, raw veggies or fruits. 2.) Working out. (Cardio mixed with weight training will produce best results. Cardio 1st will increase heart rate and core temperature. Follow with some weight training. You will burn more calories and have a more intense training session.)
This is an example of what I eat. I’m not saying I’m perfect; this is what works for me.
Breakfast: I’ll eat one pack of low sugar oatmeal. I prefer cinnamon and apples. Sometimes I’ll cut up a banana or put some frozen blue berry’s mixed in. I’ll boil eggs the night before and eat 3 egg whites for the added protein.
Lunch: I can of tuna fish, I like to cut up red pepper, onions, celery, and I’ll add some egg whites left over from breakfast. I’ll eat this with one slice of wheat bread. Nature best has some healthy bread. White bread has no nutritional value. I’ll have my tuna with an apple or pear. Both are lower on the glycemic index.
Dinner: I’ll have some kind of meat. I prefer chicken or I’ll grill fish. Different kinds of color rice and I’ll have some kind of vegetable.
I could write all day, but the best advice I can give you is to control your portion intake and eat more times a day.

I do lots of cardio by playing sports, and I lately I’ve been lifting weights twice a week while taking whey and my arms have gotten quite a bit bigger. I have pretty low body fat and I’m pretty lean. What is the best way for me to get a six pack? Should I just continue my normal routine and do 30 situps a night or something? Thanks.

If you already have a low body fat percentage than doing situps and crunches will help you. Don’t go crazy with them. A lot of people go to the gym and fo hundreds of situps and crunches every day. They treat their abs differently from every other muscle in the body. Treat them the same as you would any other muscle and you will see improvements.

I just finished my wrestling season and i got a six pack from it. But they are not visible unless i flex. DOes anybody know an easy workout plan or suggestions of something i could do each day to make my six pack be there without flexing?

Your going to have to lose some of your body fat, so dieting will see better results. Eating 5-6 times a day will help as it will keep your metabolism fueled. I do a boot camp 3-4 time a week I got fitter but it never really showed, until I changed my diet.

I want to eat damn it. I don’t like eating like those men’s fitness magazines where they tell you eat 2 spoons of raisins, 1 slice of wheat bread, and 2 spoons of nuts, and a 1/4 glass of orange juice for breakfast. Man, screw that I want to be able to eat like a human not a bird or a squirrel. Somebody give me advice on eating what you want to eat and still having that six pack. I’ll hit the gym hard to make up for what I eat is it possible?

I have a six pack and am still trying to burn a little bit of fat off my abs, but how do I get an eight pack? Do i just keep training my abs, or intensify the training or what?

Neither.. You need to change your workout (the type of exercises) to get the definition and separate those um.. Parts.. Otherwise you’re just going to get a more defined six pack..

Don’t ask me how.. I’m a 4 pack, and content to stay there..

How do I get defined pectorals and maybe even defined abs in a month?

I have a very average figure, but I would like to enhance my pecs and even my abs a little before cross country season starts at the end of August so I can run with my shirt off and not look like an idiot. How can I do this effectively?

I’ve been doing the following exercises for about 3 weeks now, and it is woking wonders! I had lots of extra weight around my middle, and now I’m seeing the ab muscles more and more.

It doesn’t take long at all and is very effective. Take a deep breath and hold it. Tighten up your abs as hard as you can while slowly exhaling. Keep your abs REALLY TIGHT for 30 seconds if you can (being sure to exhale throughout — and inhaling as needed — you don’t want to pass out by not breathing). Repeat this a few times. Later on in the day, do it again, only this time from a slouching position or lean forward. You can vary this a bit, too, but giving attention to your side (love handle) area. You can even do them again at odd moments of the day if you want.

Now for the chest: One of my favorite exercises involves making a circle-shape with my arms, with the hands clasped together out in front of me. Tense up the chest muscles, pushing your hands against each other AS HARD AS YOU CAN until you are exhausted (30 seconds or less, normally). Keep your focus on your pectoral muscles as you do this. Then, slowly relax your muscles and stretch your arms out, stretching out your chest muscles. This allows your muscles to rest and begins the building-up process.

Do the exercises each day. And you will be amazed at the results. I have found isometrics to give me the gains of weight training and even better. Check out the article below for more info. I can’t recommend these exercises more…

Rectus Abdominus just like any other muscle (biceps, triceps) grow when they’re stressed (by adding weights)

So, use some weights when you’re doing ab exercises like 5 lbs, 10 lbs, ect.

How to get abs in a month?

I’m 5’5″ and weigh 142 lbs. Can you just give me any ab workouts that will effectively burn fat on my abs and make them show? Don’t include crunches and sit-ups. I already know about those but just give me any other effective ab workouts that will let me get abs in a month. Also maybe provide a balanced diet plan. Also I would prefer someone who has achieved getting abs to answer this.

I read that as “how to get ass in a mouth!” HAHAHA!
Anyway, you have to do more than just ab workouts to lose the fat. The rule of thumb is burn more calories than you consume. Get on the fucking treadmill and run until you are dead tired. Get off go to a corner and do 10 pushups, ten jumping jacks, ten crunches, and ten mountain climbers. Then run back to the treadmill and do the same thing again. Do this for 30 minutes. Now go to the weight section of your gym, grab the dumbells and start doing 10 curls with each arm. Then up the weight by 2.5 lbs until your arms are destroyed. Then go the cage where the barbel is. Put some weight and floor your ass, explode back up. In other words do a squat. Repeat 10 times. Up the eight 5lbs each side until your legs are destroyed. Finish up with crunches until your abs are on fire!
Drink plenty of water in between sets.
When you get home eat half of everything you normally eat. That will cut your calories in half. Couple this with the exercise and you will be losing some major weight after a week. Ask me tomorrow what the next exercise session should consist of. If you don’t the rule of thumb is work out the muscles you didn’t workout the day before. But always do the treadmill warmup routine from the beginning! You got that!

1000s of crunches a day wont do anything

You want to mainly be doing cardio with a negative caloric intake (this means your eating less calories than your body needs so it takes the calories out of your fat)

Go running everyday
If you can get down to a running track, sprint the straights and briskly walk the bends

If you cant get to a running track go for a pretty fast jog for around half an hour

Device an abs routine
i would do 25 crunches coming up for 5 secs and staying there
Then 30 crunches, double crunches and bicycle crunches

if this is easy add a small amount of weight (a large book or something)

You wont see any change until you get your body fat down less than 10%

Stick with this workout plan remembering to take in only about 2000 calories a day (you can see the calories in food on the nutritional Information) and you WILL see difference

You may see it in weeks if you already have low body fat, but it could take months

I just started last night and every night im going to do 2 leg lifts lasting about 4-5 mins each, immidentlly after that 25 sit ups and at least for the past 2 nights it burns bad. If i do this every night how long until i get a little 6 pack… Im 14 skinny and male if that helps

Too get the most growth out of one muscle you kinda have to work other ones as well your body just doesnt let you get one big muscle group while the others are small so run do pushups, chin ups, squats, crunches then to finish your abs off hold a plank position for as long as you can. 1.Develop the proper mental attitude and belief system to achieve your fitness goals. This step is nearly always overlooked and the main reason why most people fail. They never had the proper mindset. This will guarantee failure every time! This step is listed first for a reason. You must take the time to address this immediately.

2.Nutrition is actually more important than exercise for burning fat. The foods we eat will affect whether or not we can burn the fat away through exercise. Your diet must consist of whole and natural foods and grass fed and organic meats and fish. You will avoid trans fats, hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup; basically anything processed with chemicals. Eating healthy though is not enough. You must know what healthy foods to eat, when to eat them and how often to eat them.
